Information on data protection - Private accommodation database

Information on data protection when using the private accommodation portal as a provider

  1. If you use the private accommodation portal on the Studierendenwerk Oldenburg website to offer private accommodation, the data you provide will be stored and processed by a specialised IT service provider. Your data will not be passed on to third parties in any other way.
    To use the portal, you need to register with an e-mail address and a password of your choice. You must provide the following personal data so that interested parties can contact you: Name, e-mail address, telephone number.
    We will send you your details by e-mail once they have been entered so that you can check them. This e-mail is unencrypted. The collection of the data is necessary in order to be able to publish your offer

    The person responsible within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation is the Managing Director of Studierendenwerk Oldenburg, Mr Thurner, Uhlhornsweg 49-55, 26129 Oldenburg.

  4. Storage of your data in the further procedure
    You can delete the data stored for your offer yourself after you have logged into the portal. If you do not delete your offer, we will do so by 31 December of the following year at the latest.
    The e-mail address and the associated password will remain stored by us so that you can use the portal again in the future.
  5. Your rights
    You have the right to obtain information from the Studierendenwerk Oldenburg about which personal data we have stored about you, as well as the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and the right to object to processing. You also have the right to data portability. You can assert this right against the Student Housing Department.   6. Your right to lodge a complaint with the State Data Protection Officer
    You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Lower Saxony State Data Protection Officer in the event of a data protection breach. You can contact the data protection officer of the Studierendenwerk beforehand.
  7. In the event of non-consent
    If you do not agree to the collection and processing of your data, you cannot use the online portal to post an offer.

Information on data protection when using the private accommodation portal as a seeker

If you use the private accommodation portal on the Studierendenwerk Oldenburg website to search for private accommodation, no data entry is required and therefore no personal data will be stored.
