If damage has occurred in your room or flat or something needs to be repaired, we will take care of it. You can easily let our caretakers know using our form. They will then make sure that everything is working again as quickly as possible. But please remember: neither changing a light bulb nor an emergency locksmith service are part of our caretakers' duties.

In urgent emergencies, please do not use this form, but report the damage directly to the caretaker's office by telephone.

  • complete power failure
  • Burst water pipe

Once again: unlocking rooms is not part of the emergency service!

Help, I've locked myself out! What now?

If you have locked yourself out of your room in the hall of residence, you need to contact a commercial locksmith.

In Emden and Wilhelmshaven, you can contact the local Studierendenwerk office or the janitors during the relevant office hours. In this case, we will charge you 40 euros for opening your door.
Outside office hours, please call a local locksmith directly.

If you have lost your key, please also inform the Studierendenwerk on the next working day.

Oldenburg, Elsfleth, Wilhelmshaven: Recommended locksmiths

The Studierendenwerk works with the company Sicherheitshaus Redelfs (Tel. 0441 390 24 90) for Oldenburg and Elsfleth.

In Wilhelmshaven, the Studierendenwerk cooperates with the company Sicherheitshaus Radtke (Tel. 04421 23300).

If you use one of these locksmiths, you will keep the costs as low as possible. The keys to our halls of residence are deposited with these companies so that the locks are not damaged when they are unlocked. You therefore do not have to pay for a new lock cylinder afterwards. Nevertheless, using a locksmith is not exactly cheap, especially at night or at the weekend - so it's best to take good care of your keys!
